Barb knew from the beginning that she wanted to be involved in sports
management.
She earned her master's degree in it at Indiana University.
She then brought her education and love of sports and spent several years with
local Olympic Committee governing bodies (or NGB?s) here in Indianapolis.
They included the US. Canoe & Kayak Team and US. Rowing Association. She was
involved in sponsorship and event managemen responsibilities while at each
NGB.
In the past five (5) years, she has been twice president of the largest
women's golf organization, Indianapolis Women's Golf League, here in
Indianapolis as ranked by the Indiana Business Journal. During those years, membership in the league doubled.
As a goal to recover from knee surgery, Barb
stepped into triathlon races which then progressed to adventure racing. And,
now, realizing that adventure racing needed some professional guidance, has
thrown herself behind the scenes of the sport.
