Planet Adventure now offers Inline Speed Skating events in Indianapolis. With the help of experienced area speed skaters (Indy Speed, Asphalt Beach and Global Inline) and the National Roller Cup (NROC), Planet Adventure will host five events in 2010. The closed courses will have something for everyone from the recreational and fitness beginner to the advanced professional! Skaters can choose from a mixture of multiple events including kid’s dashes, time trials, 5K and 10K criterium style racing plus half and full marathon distances! NROC members compete for “A” points towards their annual totals.

TONY MUSE

Tony Muse is one of the winningest racers in the history of U.S. speed skating, both quad and inline. The younger brother of Dante Muse, Tony won 18 world championships in the 1980s and 1990s as well as over 20 silver and bronze medals. He has won over 50 National championships with multiple podium finishes. He has raced professionally since 1992 and is a member of the Powerslide USA team. Outside of racing, Tony has travelled all over the world teaching coaches and skaters some of the details that enhanced his racing. Among his protégés are former world champion Solange Franklin, US indoor national champion Todd Foley and young up and comer Zach Stopplemoor. "This is the sport I love," he says, "and some day I would like to run our national governing body in order to get us the exposure and Olympic opportunity we deserve." Tony is a father of five and real estate broker. "My great partner, my wife, is the No. 1 reason for my continued success," he says. He lives in his hometown of West Des Moines, Iowa.

JORGE BOTERO

From 1996 to present, Jorge Botero is incredibly accomplished in the sport of inline speed skating. He has represented major inline companies, Rollerblade and Bont, in the World Inline Cup (WIC) where he is World Champion in the years 1998, 2002 and 2006 and champion of several marathons in the WIC from 1999 to 2006. Jorge has conducted courses for all levels of skaters to excel not only in competition but in skating in general. “The Europeans tell us (Jorge and Tony Muse) that the clinics we were holding while competing in the World Inline Cup in Europe were helping to grow the sport. That is our goal in the United States. The competitive part of the sport is fantastic but the activity of inline skating is simply one of the best ways to get an overall workout and stay in shape.” Jorge currently resides in Orlando, FL and represents Powerslide inline skating company where he and Tony Muse compete internationally at the highest level but now concentrate more on passing their knowledge to future generations of skaters.
