WHILE MOUNTAIN BIKING

Mountain Bike (No cyclo-cross bikes)
ANSI approved bike helmet (each member)

WHILE CANOEING

PFD (coast guard type III)
Waterproof map case (ONE PER TEAM)
Paddle, canoe or kayak paddle OK
Canoes will be provided (1 per team)
Loaner kayak paddles available on request.
daisy chain, sewn runner or 6feet of rope

DURING TRIAD

1 Mountain Bike
1 pair of Rollerblades or 1 Scooter (3-person teams only)
ANSI approved bike helmet ( if on wheels )
2-person teams will only need a mountain bike

RECOMMENDED GEAR

Water/wind resistant shell
Water bottles or bladder (50 ounce capacity)
Bike gloves for bike and paddle
Extra compass
Bike multi-tool
1 spare inner tube per person
Patch kit
Bike pump
Tow system
Long pants or tights
waterproof container for passport

GEAR TO BE CARRIED AT ALL TIMES BY ONE PERSON

Cell phone
Water-proof cell phone pouch or box
Writing utensil
Compass
First aid kit: Contents to include the following min.:
- 3/4" adhesive bandages.
- (1) roll of medical tape
- Antibiotic ointment packet
- 3" wide Ace Bandage
- (4) anti-inflammatory tablets (Ibuprofen, etc.)
- (4) electrolyte tablets (E-cap, potassium, glutamate, etc.)
- Sunscreen

Race bib or number visible over clothing

WHILE ON ROPES

cycling helmet
rappelling gloves (bike gloves or leather gloves okay)
Harnesses, ATC, and carabineers will be provided -- racers provide cycling helmet & gloves. Racers may use their own commercial harness, ATC & (2) locking carabineers. Providing your own equipment may allow you to progress more quickly through this skill.
