LOCATION

The race will start at Valley Branch Retreat & Paintball Valley in Brown County, Indiana.

...Valley Branch Retreat & Paintball Valley is a family owned facility nestled in the wooded hills of Brown County, Indiana. Covering over 500 acres there are endless journeys to endure while visiting. With over 30 miles of Nationally Accredited mountain biking and hiking trails, four acre fishing and swimming lake, canoes, paddle boats, and 10 Paintball Fields with Pro-Shop...

Camping and Transition Area: We will be using the Valley Branch Campground area for transitions. Each Team must rent a campsite for transitioning. Cost is $16 per team and reservations should be made directly with Valley Branch. Be sure to tell them that you are with the Planet Adventure Sprint Race. The campgrounds are very nice and it's highly recommended to camp there the night before.

If you'd prefer something nicer, cabins are available for $12 per person with a minimum of 5 people per cabin. The cabins can sleep 10-20 people depending on the cabin so feel free to share a cabin with friends or bring your family to cheer you on. Cabin rental includes a campsite for transition so be sure to have them hold a campsite for you if you rent a cabin.

Contact Gary Bartels or any of the Valley Branch Staff at 812.988.7750 for camping reservations.

RACE SCHEDULE

Pre-Race Check-In: Pre-race check-in will be at the race site on Friday, June 9, 2006 from 7:00PM - 9:00PM. All team members must be present to sign waivers, pick-up packet, etc. (NOTE: if you have a team member that can't make it Friday, you can have them sign the waiver ahead of time).

Race Start Time: The 2006 Planet Adventure Sprint Race will start at 8:00AM. There will be limited race day check-in from 6:00AM - 6:30AM. Please be on time. Pre-race briefing will start at 7:00 AM. This is very IMPORTANT! Race course details will be given at this time, maps distributed, etc.

All racers need to start arriving to the start line at 7:50 AM for final race instructions.

Race cut-off will be 4:00PM, however, we want as many teams as possible to finish. This is our goal and we will do our best to work and make sure as many teams as possible cross the finish line.

Post-Race Cookout: We'll have a cookout after the race again this year. Plan on staying and meeting some of the teams you don't know.

OTHER INFO

Weather: The weather in June can obviously be very hot and humid in Indiana, so please be sure to stay well hydrated, etc... We will have medical personal at the race; however you're ultimately responsible for yourself and your teammates. This is Adventure Racing (keyword ... Adventure), so for those that are new to the sport, you need to know and understand that it's very important that you plan accordingly with hydration and first aid needs until professional medical assistance or race staff can reach you.

Gear List: Please be sure to read over the gear list and make sure you have what is required. We try to keep the gear requirements to a minimum for our 'Sprint' races, but again, make sure you have what is posted on our gear list. You do not need a headlamp.

Paddles: We have plenty of paddles for teams to use if you don't have one. Please notify us if your team needs paddles. We recommend using your own, but again, we do have plenty to use.

Volunteers: We can always use more volunteers for our races. Volunteering is a great way to get involved in Adventure Racing. Email us at volunteer@planetadventurerace.com if you can help out.

Teams/Teammates: If you need a teammate or a team, please check or post to our message board.
